Ignite Driving Schools’ instructors are Pass Plus certified by the DSA.
Pass Plus is a practical driver training course designed by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) to improve driving skill and facilitate safe driving. It is most useful to beginning drivers (the DSA advises taking it within your first year of driving),
but it proves useful to drivers of all levels of experience.
Most people take Pass Plus training because of the potential insurance discounts, though. Once you complete your Pass Plus training, you will receive a Pass Plus certificate. Many insurers offer discounted rates for Pass Plus certified drivers; some reduce their rates by as much as 48%. You’ll have to check with your insurance company first, though. Some do not offer a Pass Plus discount at all, and some only offer it if you have passed the course within the last year. Quite a few insurers do offer the discount, though, so it’s worth checking.
The Pass Plus course is only available to those who have already passed their driving test. The course consists of 6 driving lessons, one each for the 6 modules below:
- Module 1: Introduction (part 1) & Town driving (part 2)
- Module 2: All weather driving
- Module 3: Out of town driving and rural roads
- Module 4: Night driving
- Module 5: Dual carriage wage
- Module 6: Motor ways
Unlike many courses, there is no test at the end. Your progress will be assessed throughout the course, and you must complete all modules satisfactorily in order to complete the training and receive your certificate.
Ignite Driving Schools charges only £22 an hour for our Pass Plus training course, the same price for our hourly lessons. Many instructors charge extra for a certified course such as Pass Plus.
Huge insurance discounts, and the best possible safety training, for a very competitive price. It’s hard to see a down-side. Contact Ignite Driving Schools today to learn about how you can become Pass Plus certified with an instructor near you!
