The costs of your training can be spread out across the training period, or can be had for substantial discounts if purchased up front. Instructor training takes place in three distinct phases, each with their own costs.
The first phase of driving instructor training is devoted to theory. Ignite Driving Schools provides all the books you will require as well as mock test preparation and assistance. Tis first phase of tuition costs a total of £150.00.
The second phase focuses on your actual driving ability. Our standard course is 20 hours of tuition. Ignite provides all of your necessary materials as well as the car you will use on the day of your test. All tuition is strictly one-to-one with your instructor.
Many students choose to pay for this phase of tuition over the course of these 40 hours, as their instruction pay comes in. The full final cost of phase 3 is £1175.00, which includes all the materials you will need to prepare yourself for the final test. This can be broken up into 4 payments of £293.75.
The third and final phase of your training concerns your teaching ability. Before you can be certified as a professional driving instructor, you will have to perform 40 hours of actual paid driving instruction, allowing you to gain real world teaching experience.
Furthermore, Ignite Driving Schools will provide a further 5 hours of instruction free of charge if you are unsuccessful at your first attempt at certification.
The total price for all three phases of study is £1925.00, and financial help is available to many students.
Can I qualify for financial help?
Your local job centre can provide help for quite a few trainee instructors. If you have been unemployed for more than six months, you can have all or part of your tuition paid for you. Ask the local officer at your nearest job centre about assistance for new business start-ups. Interest free loans are also available through the career development scheme which need not be repaid until after you becomes qualified.
